Hello!
My photographry journey began a little over a decade ago in college, learning analog film photography & very little about digital photography (oh, how the times have changed!). After graduating, I moved from Pennsylvania to New York City and spent a good chunk of my early 20’s & 30’s there before finally relocating to upstate New York. It was during my time in the city that my love for wedding & street photography grew and as result, I grew too. From interning for a wedding photographer to working in photo departments of start-up tech companies to continuously documenting daily life on 35mm film across the various NYC neighborhoods. When I wasn’t getting lost on the subway, I was observing my surroundings, watching people & cars and the city move around me. I brought my camera everywhere. I was fascinated by how people interact with each other on the street as well as in their own environment. A large part of how I approach capturing couples & their families on wedding days comes from observing, much like how I capture scenes on the street.
Over the last 10 years, I’ve come to truly admire weddings where couples celebrate their love for each other in a way that was unique and authentic to their relationship. Where they both value cultivating an experience with each other and focus on sharing that experience with their loved ones. There is no greater feeling than documenting two families coming together for one day to celebrate the unity of two people they care so deeply about. I’m drawn to capturing honest moments between couples and documenting the love they share for not only each other but for their families and friends, on one of the most sacred days of their lives. I love capturing all moments, the big + loud ones along with the small + quiet ones too. It’s incredibly humbling to have the ability to preserve such raw moments that will last a lifetime!
